Respect #SunnyLeone

I was thinking of writing about Ranveer-Ranbir-Katrina-Deepika chaos and how the new generation should understand that friendship can often change into love, but love can never change back into friendship… when the story of Sunny Leone smashed through my rooftop!

If she has been just a ‘sexy body’ to viewers for so long, with most people dismissing her upcoming film, ‘Mastizaade’, as just another crap C-grade entertainer, CNN-IBN’s Bhupender Chaubey just made her an International Star!

I saw the interview and for the first time held up my right hand in a mark of salute to the porn actor. “Respect” girl! You have taught a lot of us how to be proud of your past and yet get on with the present. How to be humble yet dignified in the face of misogynistic questions. How to restrain yourself from insulting someone back who is so vile with his insulting attitude that his saliva of lust is almost dripping from his eyes. Chaubey wanted Sunny to say that she is so regretful of her past, that she wants to don this ‘Sati Savitri’ image and beg the viewers to accept her. But no! Sunny did not go that way, and recalled that her biggest regret was that she reached her ailing mother tad late.

So far, Washington Post, Toronto Star, BBC and a huge number of world media has lapped up the story of how a porn queen gets the support of an entire country as well as mainstream Bollywood. Some even suggested Chaubey go back to his school of journalism and learn the difference between yellow and black-and-white journalism.
