
Indrani Mukherjea, prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, on Friday filed a bail plea stating she needs to recover from her deteriorating health condition to face the trial.
“Given the deteriorating medical condition, it is essential in the interest of justice that the applicant be enlarged on bail and be allowed proper medical care and comfortable environment for recovery so that she case efficaciously prepare for the trial and face it,” reads the bail plea.
Indrani’s plea has been filed under CrPC Section 437, which gives the option of bail to a woman on health grounds.
Relying heavily on the medical reports from JJ hospital and present health condition, the bail application states that she needs proper care, which is not possible in judicial condition.
Indrani has said she is suffering from “chronic small vessel ischemic changes”.
