and icy conditions on Sunday morning as forecasters warn of a wintry mix moving through the region. According to Environment Canada, precipitation could include freezing rain and ice pellets early in the day, potentially creating slippery roads and hazardous travel conditions.

Temperatures are expected to hover around the freezing point, increasing the likelihood of minor ice accumulation on roads, sidewalks, and vehicles. While the risk of freezing rain is mainly expected during the morning hours, some areas could continue to experience mixed precipitation into the afternoon, particularly in higher terrain south of Georgian Bay.

Officials are advising drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution, as icy surfaces may make travel difficult in some parts of the city.

In addition to the wintry mix, strong winds are forecast to develop and continue through the early part of the week. Easterly winds Sunday morning are expected to shift southerly overnight with gusts reaching up to 70 km/h. By Monday, winds are forecast to turn southwesterly before becoming westerly Monday night, with gusts possibly strengthening to between 70 and 90 km/h.

Environment Canada warns that the strong winds may toss loose outdoor objects, break tree branches, and potentially cause localized power outages.

Residents are encouraged to secure outdoor items and remain cautious while traveling as the changing weather conditions move through the region.
